Our trip program is for our 1st graders and up. The campers who will be entering 1st & 2nd grade after the summer will go on one trip a week. Campers entering 3rd grade and up will go on as many as three trips a week. The “Trip Kids”, as we call them get to enjoy an array of different trips. We try to add new trips each summer so that the campers have something new to look forward to each year. However, of course we keep the “Favorite Trips” on the calendar. All our trips are supervised by two trip leaders who are certified in Advanced First Aid and CPR.


We have entertainment once a week. On this special day we bring in somebody or something to entertain, excite and amaze the children! We have DJ’s, Magicians, Puppet shows, a carnival and much more. We love to see our camper’s faces when the entertainment arrives. There is never a dull moment during our entertainment day at camp!


This is definitely a camper and counselor favorite. The camp spirit and energy is high throughout the summer but nothing compares to the week of Color War! We break up all the campers into 2 teams, RED and WHITE! Each team represents a theme! The campers compete in all activities throughout the day, even lunch and clean up! Some favorite activities during Color War include: Pie Eating, Fill the Bucket and The Swim Relays, just to name a few! Everything is judged. Sportsmanship points are a huge part of Color War as we stress the importance of it during all competitions! Not only do the campers compete in activities but they also prepare and make up a group song, dance and banner that are judged at the end of the week! This is just another great experience that will teach your children great life lessons throughout their exciting 8 weeks at Hickory Hill!
